We’re so glad you’re here. Below are the policies that help us keep 50 Acre Woods a safe, joyful, and respectful space for everyone. By registering for a class, retreat, or event, you agree to the terms outlined here.

🗓️ Registration & Payment

  • All registrations are processed through our website using a third-party processor.  Registrations are prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Your spot is not confirmed until your deposit or full payment is received.  Full payments are required 30 days prior to the start of the event.

  • Classes may have additional materials fees, payable directly to the instructor on the first day of class as specified in the class description.

  • We accept most major credit cards through our secure online system.

💳 Cancellation Policy

Retreats & Classes

  • PAYMENTS, CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS:

    • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your retreat reservation.

  • Refund policy:

    • The deposit is non-refundable if you cancel within 120 days of your retreat start date.

    • Any payments made beyond the deposit become on-refundable within 45 days of the retreat start date.

  • Exceptions & Special Circumstances

    • Refunds or alternative accommodations are considered at the sole discretion of 50 Acre Woods and may be granted in cases such as:

      • A cancellation initiated by 50 Acre Woods.

      • A weather guarantee, if explicitly offered by 50 Acre Woods for the retreat.

      • Adjustments due to group attendance numbers.

    • Any approved refunds will be processed after the retreat dates are concluded.

  • Rescheduling policy:

    • In some cases, guests may be offered the option to transfer their booking to a future retreat.  This option will only be provided once per original booking.  If rescheduling is granted:

      • The original retreat’s refund policy will still apply to the rescheduled date.

      • Example:

        • If you reschedule while within the 120-day non-refundable window, the new retreat will be treated as if it were still within that window.

        • If you reschedule while you are within 45 days of arrival, you will remain within that non-refundable period, even if the new retreat date is further out.

  • Force Majeure (Circumstances Beyond Our Control):
    At 50 Acre Woods, we do everything possible to make sure your retreat runs as planned. However, sometimes life brings unexpected challenges—like severe weather, owner/staff illness, power outages, or other events that are outside of our control.
    If something like this happens and we are unable to host your retreat on the scheduled dates, we will:

  • Reschedule the retreat to a new date within the next 6 months, whenever possible.

  • If rescheduling doesn’t work, we’ll provide you with a credit toward a future retreat.

  • Refunds may be considered in special cases, depending on the situation.

We appreciate your understanding that these rare events are beyond our control, and we’ll always do our best to take care of you and keep your retreat experience a positive one.

🏡 Accommodations

If your retreat includes lodging:

  • Room assignments are made based on preferences, groupings, and availability.

  • You will be required to complete the guest questionnaire upon registration.

🧵 Class Supplies

Each class lists:

  • What is provided by the instructor (including any material fees).

  • What you need to bring, such as tools, fabric, or personal supplies.

  • Preparation instructions, if needed before arrival.

🚑 Health & Safety

  • Please notify us in advance of any allergies, mobility limitations, or concerns.

  • Instructors may set guidelines for tool safety or studio use.

  • 50 Acre Woods is a non-smoking/vaping facility.  Smoking/Vaping areas may be designated upon request at a minimum of 50 feet from the building. Alcohol is permitted in moderation.

🐾 Pet Policy

While we love animals, pets are not allowed at retreats or workshops unless they are certified service animals covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  These animals are defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability.

📸 Photography

We may occasionally photograph classes or gatherings for future marketing. You’ll be asked to sign a simple photo upon registration.  Additionally, you will be responsible for removing yourself from photographs being taken of the group.  Remaining in group photos implies your consent to the Photo Release.  Last, you may give a verbal Photo Release during your stay that will also serve as your consent to the Photo Release.   Please review the photo release located at: https://cdn-secure.retreat.guru/wp-content/uploads/sites/8169/2025/04/50-Acre-Woods-Photo-Release.pdf
