Arrival: Check-in starts any time after 3 PM. This is a great time to get settled in, set up at your designated quilting table, and familiarize yourself with the craft room and your personal space. Take a moment to relax in your cozy room and explore the retreat surroundings.
Evening: After you've settled in, we’ll come together for a delicious dinner and a short orientation to help you get acquainted with the schedule, the space, and the other attendees. This evening is all about connecting, getting to know one another, and enjoying a laid-back start to your quilting journey.

Each day at 50 Acre Woods begins with a leisurely breakfast, featuring warm coffee and a delicious spread to start your morning. Whether you ease into the day or dive straight into your quilting projects, the time is yours to enjoy. Spend the day sewing, crafting, and making progress on your personal projects while connecting with fellow quilters. After a fulfilling day of creativity, unwind in the evening by continuing your work, enjoying casual conversation, reading a book, or relaxing with a peaceful stroll through the woods. Each evening is designed for relaxation and reflection, giving you the perfect balance of productivity and tranquility.
On departure day, you are free to leave at any time that suits your schedule. Whether you need a little extra time to make last-minute touches to your projects or want to get a head start on your drive, it's all good. We’ll serve breakfast just as we do every morning, allowing you to enjoy a final meal before you go. Upper Level:

3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths: Space to rest and rejuvenate after a day of quilting, with enough bathrooms to ensure no one's ever left waiting.
Large Kitchen and Living Room: The heart of the home where culinary delights are crafted and memories are shared. Get ready for some serious bonding over delicious meals!
Downstairs:
The lower level of 50 Acre Woods is designed with comfort, creativity, and convenience in mind. It features two themed bedrooms and two semi-private bathrooms. Each bathroom is designated for use by guests in one of the bedrooms for showering and personal care, while remaining open for use by other retreat guests as needed. Both bathrooms include locking doors for full privacy.
One of the bedrooms offers a groovy nod to the 70s, complete with retro charm and nostalgic vibes. The other celebrates the rich culture of Tennessee, honoring the spirit of the Volunteer State through thoughtful design and décor.
Also downstairs, you’ll find a cozy rest area—perfect for reading, chatting, or unwinding—as well as a fully stocked kitchen filled with snacks, coffee, and a variety of drinks available around the clock.
At the heart of the lower level is the Craft Room—a spacious 700-square-foot quilting haven. With plenty of room to spread out and settle in, this versatile workspace is thoughtfully designed to fuel your creativity and support every step of your quilting journey.
In total, there are 13 beds; 1 King, 7 Queens and 5 Twins.
Each bed is dressed in 100% cotton bedding, hand-pressed for that crisp, clean feel that adds a little luxury to your stay. To ensure a restful night no matter the season, mattress warmers are included on every bed—perfect for chilly evenings or just a little extra comfort.

While we don’t offer a formal shuttle service, we’re absolutely here to help make your travel as smooth as possible—especially if you’re flying in. Whether it’s helping arrange a ride, connecting you with another guest for a shared trip, or exploring local transportation options, we’re happy to assist however we can.
Just let us know your travel plans ahead of time, and we’ll work with you to make sure getting here is a breeze. We want your journey to be just as enjoyable as the retreat itself!

However, we must admit, our retreat tends to fill up faster than bobbins at a quilting bee! So if you're planning to attend with a group of friends, we recommend coordinating your sign-ups near the same time to ensure that everyone secures their spot. We like to keep things simple—your retreat fee covers all the essentials for a fantastic quilting experience, including lodging, meals, and plenty of stitching time.
That said, there may be a few optional goodies available for purchase during the retreat—think fun quilting supplies, exclusive merch, or little extras you might fall in love with while you're here. We also do our best to arrange for a massage therapist to come and work her magic on all of those sore spots and tight shoulders. You may add these items on while registering or after arrival.
So, while there’s no pressure to spend beyond your retreat fee, it never hurts to tuck in a little extra for those unexpected treasures or last-minute must-haves.

Thank you for your question about the minimum age to attend our quilting retreat. While we don't have a strict age requirement, we do prefer for everyone present to be 21 or older.
You see, part of the quilting retreat experience includes the occasional opportunity to unwind and relax with an adult beverage. Since we're not equipped to monitor who has what, we believe it's best for all attendees to be of legal drinking age.
However, we're always excited to share our love for quilting and the quilting culture with the up and coming generation! Young quilters bring fresh perspectives and new ideas to the table, and we believe there's always something to learn from each other.
