Welcome to 50 Acre Woods. By using this website, registering for a retreat or class, or visiting our property, you agree to the following policies and terms.

50 Acre Woods is owned and operated by Framily Rentals LLC.

1. Use of This Website

All content on this website — including text, images, logos, class materials, and branding — is the property of 50 Acre Woods and may not be copied or reproduced without permission.

You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and to provide accurate information when registering or making a purchase.

2. Registration, Payments & Confirmation

Retreat and class spaces are first-come, first-served and are not confirmed until a deposit or payment is received.

All payments are processed securely through third-party providers. We do not store credit card information.

Taxes or material fees are disclosed on individual class or retreat pages.

3. Cancellation, Refund, Minimum Attendance & Rescheduling Policy

NOTE: SPECIAL CLASS AND EVENT REFUND POLICIES:
Some specialty classes, workshops, and hosted instructor events may have refund policies that differ from the standard 50 Acre Woods retreat policy. When this is the case, the refund policy listed on the individual class or event page will supersede the general policy below.

Please review the specific class page carefully before registering.

DEPOSIT REQUIREMENT:

A 50% deposit is required to reserve your retreat space.

REFUND TIMELINE:

More than 120 days prior to retreat: Deposit and any additional payments are refundable

Within 120 days of the retreat start date: Deposit becomes non-refundable

Within 45 days of the retreat start date: All payments become non-refundable

MINIMUM ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT:

All retreats at 50 Acre Woods require a minimum of 11 registered guests to proceed as scheduled.

If the minimum attendance requirement is not met, the retreat may be canceled or rescheduled at 50 Acre Woods' discretion. In this case, guests will be offered:

A transfer to the rescheduled retreat date (if offered), or
A full refund of payments made

RESCHEDULING:

Guests may be offered one opportunity to transfer their reservation to a future retreat date. If rescheduling is granted, the refund timeline remains the same as the original date.

Examples:

If you reschedule while within the 120-day non-refundable window, the new retreat will be treated as if it were still within that window.
If you reschedule while you are within 45 days of arrival, you will remain within that non-refundable period, even if the new retreat date is further out.

EXCEPTIONS:

Refunds or credits outside of this policy are considered only at the sole discretion of 50 Acre Woods for:

Retreat cancellation initiated by 50 Acre Woods
Weather guarantees (if explicitly offered)
Group attendance adjustments

Approved refunds are processed after the retreat dates conclude.

FORCE MAJEURE (Circumstances Beyond Our Control):
At 50 Acre Woods, we do everything we can to ensure your retreat runs as planned. However, sometimes life brings unexpected challenges—like severe weather, illness, power outages, or other events beyond our control.
If something like this happens and we are unable to host your retreat on the scheduled dates, we will:

Reschedule the retreat to a new date within the next 6 months, whenever possible.
If rescheduling doesn’t work, we’ll provide you with a credit toward a future retreat.
Refunds may be considered in special cases, depending on the situation.

We appreciate your understanding that these rare events are beyond our control, and we’ll always do our best to take care of you and keep your retreat experience a positive one.

4. Code of Conduct

We are committed to a respectful, welcoming, and inclusive environment. Disruptive or unsafe behavior may result in removal without refund.

5. Required Retreat policy Agreement

All guests are required to acknowledge the 50 Acre Woods Retreat Policies and Terms and Conditions during registration. This includes:

Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk
Photo & Media Policy
Service Animal Acknowledgement
Emergency Medical Consent
Guest Responsibility for Property Damage

Participation is not permitted without agreeing to these terms.

7. Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk Policy

Participation in retreats, classes, workshops, events, or lodging stays at 50 Acre Woods involves inherent risks associated with a rural property, crafting equipment, shared spaces, and environmental conditions.

These risks include, but are not limited to:

Slips, trips, and falls indoors and outdoors
Use of sewing machines, irons, cutting tools, and crafting equipment
Stairs, porches, gravel, uneven ground, wooded terrain, and wildlife
Weather conditions and natural environmental hazards
Food preparation, food allergies, and communal dining
Shared lodging spaces and personal property risks
Driveway access and vehicle travel on the property

By participating in activities at 50 Acre Woods, guests accept and assume all known and unknown risks associated with their presence on the property.

Kimberly Dyer, Eric Dyer, Dyer Family Trust, and Framily Rentals LLC, along with their agents, employees, instructors, contractors, and representatives, are not liable for injury, illness, loss, damage, or expense incurred by guests, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

8. Photo & Media Policy

50 Acre Woods retreats are community-centered experiences where guests, instructors, and hosts commonly take photographs and videos.

50 Acre Woods reserves the right to use, reproduce, repost, edit, publish, and distribute photographs or videos captured during retreats for promotional, marketing, website, social media, print, or advertising purposes without compensation.

This includes media:

Captured by 50 Acre Woods
Captured by instructors
Captured by guests and shared publicly
Sent directly to Kimberly Dyer or 50 Acre Woods through text message, email, or private message

Guests who do not wish to appear in photographs or videos are responsible for avoiding being photographed or recorded during the retreat.

9. Service Animal Acknowledgement

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), 50 Acre Woods permits the presence of trained service animals as defined by law.

A service animal is not a pet. It is a dog that has been individually trained to perform specific tasks for a person with a disability. It may be present in shared retreat spaces, including lodging, crafting areas, dining areas, and common areas. Service animals are not pets and do not permit other guests to bring pets or emotional support animals.

Guests with severe allergies or medical concerns related to service dogs accept responsibility for managing their exposure in a shared retreat environment. If you have a severe allergy or concern, you agree to notify 50 Acre Woods prior to arrival so that reasonable accommodations can be discussed.

10. Emergency Medical treatment

50 Acre Woods is located on a rural property where emergency response times may vary.

In the event of illness, injury, allergic reaction, or other medical emergency during a retreat, class, workshop, event, or lodging stay, 50 Acre Woods reserves the right to contact emergency medical services, including 911, and request assistance on behalf of a guest if the situation appears to require it.

By participating in activities at 50 Acre Woods, guests consent to receiving emergency medical care as deemed appropriate by emergency responders or licensed medical professionals.

Guests are solely responsible for any medical expenses incurred due to emergency care or transportation.

Guests are also responsible for informing 50 Acre Woods in advance of any serious medical conditions, allergies, or health concerns that may require special attention during their stay.

50 Acre Woods and its representatives are not liable for decisions made in good faith to seek emergency medical assistance on behalf of a guest.

11. Guest Responsibility for Property Damage Policy

50 Acre Woods is a privately owned retreat property furnished and equipped for guest comfort and creative use.

Guests are expected to treat the property, furnishings, tools, equipment, and linens with care.

Guests are financially responsible for damage beyond normal wear and tear, including damage caused by:

Irons, cutting tools, sewing machines, adhesives, dyes, or crafting supplies
Stains to furniture, bedding, towels, floors, or surfaces
Damage to walls, tables, chairs, design walls, or equipment
Improper movement of furniture or equipment

50 Acre Woods reserves the right to repair or replace damaged items and invoice the responsible guest for the cost of repair, replacement, or professional cleaning.
